 LA Family Housing (LAFH) is a nonprofit organization based in Los Angeles, dedicated to helping individuals and families transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. Founded in 1983, LAFH operates 40 properties across the city, providing temporary, permanent supportive, and affordable housing

LAFH’s mission is to help people transition out of homelessness and poverty through a continuum of housing enriched with supportive services. They employ evidence-based best practices to achieve their goals and operate 40 properties of temporary, permanently affordable, and permanent supportive housing across Los Angeles, with headquarters and most services based in the San Fernando Valley.

Services and Programs

LAFH provides a range of services to support individuals and families in their journey to stable housing:

  • Street Outreach and Housing Placement: Connecting individuals to the right type of housing and surrounding them with services that foster long-term housing stability.

  • Supportive Services: Offering case management, mental health support, and other services to help residents maintain housing and achieve self-sufficiency.

  • Real Estate Development: Developing and maintaining affordable housing units to increase the availability of housing for those in need
